Baptism Enquiry Form.docx

Your baby's baptism is a time of joy and celebration In all things you want the best for your child. I hope that you will be able to prepare for the Baptism in the best possible way.

Baptism is the foundation of all the Sacraments. Together with Holy Communion and Confirmation, it forms part of the three Sacraments of Initiation. Initiation into what? Into the Church, the family of God.

Baptism is therefore the beginning of a Christian life. It is not simply a ceremony; it is the foundation of a Christian life. It would be foolish to lay the foundations of a house and not get on with the rest of the building. In the same way, it would be foolish and wrong to baptise a child and not complete the foundation by developing the seeds of faith sown in the ceremony.

Faith is caught not taught. In all things your child will learn most of the important lessons of life from you, and the same applies to your child's life of faith. It is essential, then, that you look closely now at your own faith and the ways in which you express and practise it.
